Where to find Victorian law relating to powers of attorney

For members of the public

Easy to find law

The legify site provides a single simple search for Commonwealth, state and territory Acts and Regulations. It does not do a full text search so users have to know at least part of the name of the law they are looking for.

See Legify(opens in a new window).

Official State Government source

The public can access current legislation from the government's website Victorian legislation(opens in a new window).

Go to 'In force' and select 'Acts in force' or Statutory rules in force' (for regulations and rules).

VLA law library

The public can also use VLA’s law library.

See Our law library(opens in a new window).(opens in a new window)

Beware if using Austlii

Victorian legislation on Austlii site may not be fully consolidated—clients should check for currency.

For VLA staff

Staff may prefer to select from the VLA library's page Find legislation(opens in a new window).

They are easier to navigate and include table of provisions and search functions.

Law, bills and supplementary materials
