Serious Offenders Act: major changes to Victoria's post-sentence detention and supervision orders scheme

This session, deals with the changes, which potentially include serious violent offenders in the detention and supervision order scheme after they have served their sentence. Presented on 27 August 2018 by Judge Sexton of the County Court, and representatives from the Department of Justice and Regulation, Victoria Legal Aid and the Victorian Government Solicitor's Office.

VLA Criminal Professional support

The VLA Professional support lawyers have collected material to support lawyers dealing with the new post sentence scheme under the Serious Offenders Act 2018, which broadens the scheme to potentially include people who have committed specific serious violent offences.
