Road Safety Act 1986 (Vic)

This Act aims to provide for safe, efficient and equitable road use. It sets out the general obligations of road users and the procedures for the registration of motor vehicles and the licensing of drivers.

Road Safety (General) Regulations 2019 (Vic)

These Regulations prescribes procedures and devices (such as speed cameras) that are to be used for evidence in prosecuting traffic offences that involve drugs or alcohol, vehicle speed, mass and other traffic offences.

They also prescribe the penalties and information that is to be contained in parking and traffic infringements.

Road Safety Road Rules 2017 (Vic)

These rules, which apply from 1 July 2017, explain the behaviour that is expected of people who use Victoria's roads. It applies to drivers, riders, and pedestrians. The rules are based on the Australian Road Rules with local variations for Victorian Roads.

Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth)

This Act establishes a register of personal property securities. This includes all property that is not real estate (land or buildings). It allows for tracking to see whether any registered property is subject to any mortgages. lien or loan agreements that create an interest in personal property.

Infringements Act 2006 (Vic)

This Act provides a framework for issuing and serving infringement notices, penalty reminder notices and for payment plans and internal review. It also explains the expiation of demerit points.

Unclaimed Money Act 2008 (Vic)

This Act provides a method of recording, collection and safe keeping of amounts of money that have not been claimed. It sets out the reporting requirements so as to maximise the likelihood of the money being claimed by the owner.
