Flexible forum test between Victoria and NSW

VLA and Legal Aid NSW (LANSW) have introduced a flexible forum test guideline.

VLA and Legal Aid NSW (LANSW) have introduced a flexible forum test guideline. This allows the 2 commissions to work together more efficiently to support the legal needs of people living along the shared border.

This will mean that a person may apply for a grant of assistance even if the matter is going to be heard in NSW, provided that their lawyer is on VLA family law panel. They must live in one of the eligible border regions for this flexible forum test to be applied.
