Divorce

Information about divorce.

Divorce is the official ending of marriage. Fault is not relevant. The only ground for divorce is the irretrievable breakdown of marriage as demonstrated by separation for 12 months.

Divorce only dissolves a marriage. It does not deal with property settlement or issues concerning children. However, children under 18 must be mentioned in divorce application to ensure proper provision has been made for their welfare.
