Changes to penalty rates

From 1 July 2017 some minimum penalty rates in the hospitality, fast food, retail and pharmacy awards will change.

From 1 July 2017 some minimum penalty rates in the hospitality, fast food, retail and pharmacy awards will change. This means that workers in these industries may get paid less for the shifts they work. This is due to a decision of the Fair Work Commission. The changes are being phased in over 3 or 4 years.
